Haley-Jean and Steve’s Backyard Garden Wedding

To understand the love I have for photographing this garden wedding on the Patuxent in Southern Maryland, you have to understand a little bit about Steve and Haley-Jean. These two met on a blind date through a friend, they have stayed together through travels, and underway deployments. They were married in a church ceremony on the anniversary of both of their parents, June 28th. That’s right, Steve’s parents, Haley’s parents, and now Steve and Haley all share an anniversary. I went to Charleston to photograph, a couple whom all I knew about them was she was a lovely dancer, and Steve was a handsome officer in the Coast Guard. The two people I met are inspiring. Their determination, their passion for life, and their love for one another are a joy to be around. I love how they are both so family oriented, and I especially love, that I got to play with Kingston their rescue pup for photos twice. <3 I could go on and on about Haley and Steve’s wedding, starting with how her mom searched high and low for all the antique eclectic china patterns for probably a year, or how her mother made her veil, or her grandmother making the skirt for her walk down the aisle. Then there is also the fact that the venue is Steve’s family home, nestled beautifully in Southern Maryland right on the water. Did I mention their Mama Mia dance led by Haley and her 85 year old grandmother??  To cap it off we have an epic send off of fireworks and a boat departure. What an amazing night, what an amazing couple and family. Congratulations you two! I am so thrilled to share these photos, and these memories with you all.

Bridget and Matt at Linganore Wine Cellars

Bridget and Matt brought there own sunshine for their wedding. Most people don’t hope for rain on their wedding, and the only thing you can do is just roll with it. That is exactly the type of couple Bridget and Matt are. I am so glad they didn’t mind going out to frolic a bit in the rain after the ceremony. Linganore Wine Cellars is a beautiful venue with rolling hills, barn, and vineyards. The vista, breath taking and peaceful. The couple, adventurous and laid back… and happy…. and so in love. 🙂 And I forgot to mention, that as a gift to Bridget, Matt made her, her dream car! Yup, he made it. He took two cars and put them together. What a gift and what a guy! I am so happy I could share the day with these two. Thank you both for being so awesome and just rolling with everything! You two know how to have a good time, and I know life will be full of smiles and adventure for you!!

      Gatsby inspired Intimate Wedding

I loved celebrating with Cass and Wyatt this past Memorial Day weekend. Their family came from across the country to celebrate at Cass’s parents home in a very intimate backyard celebration. Touches of Gatsby were everywhere, invoking a certain ambiance and feel throughout the night. The evening was casual and personal and absolutely perfect. Cass wore a stunning 20’s inspired wedding gown with bead work that would make you swoon. Her heels were a good 4 inches in worthy attempt to be closer to her beau’s kisses. Her jewelry was heirloom and was a wonderful tie to her own history. And my favorite detail was their signature drink, found in an old Prohibition recipe book. And lastly, of course nothing could be more perfect than having your 4 legged family member close by for love and to celebrate (not to mention find any extra smores throughout the night). It rained a bit on us, but what a beautiful night all the same. Congratulations you two!! May you have many wonderful adventures!

Max and Caitlyn’s Beach Wedding at the Silver Swan

Max and Caitlyn, I don’t even know where to begin with these two, except to say, I am so glad they found me. I have loved Caitlyn’s vision for her wedding and her style since I met her. I love the way these two are together, especially when you throw in their furbaby Hogan in the mix. I love that they are up for anything including a little spot of tea to toast the royal couple on their wedding day, and I especially love that they party like rockstars. I love that they got money with their faces on them using their engagement photo ( a new use of photos I am sure!), and made it rain for their wedding. I love that even though it did rain their wedding day, they rolled with it, and the sun decided to come out for a bit after all. Thank you both for being such firecrackers! You make me happy. And I know you make each other happy, and really, that is what it’s about. <3 Congrats you two!!!

Kaitlyn and Adam’s Wedding at the Phillip Merrill Environmental Center!

I met Kaitlyn when she was a bridesmaid at a wedding I was able to photograph of our mutual friend. I remember thinking, what a lovely bride she will be when I heard she was getting married. She has such a Grecian look about her, that is so complimented by her understated and classic taste. I love that she choose simple greens for her bouquet, and how they went perfectly with her invitations. Her dress with it’s gorgeous beaded back, and flowing lines further accentuated the elegant and classic look of her wedding. Kaitlyn, who is an environmentalist, and Adam choose to have their wedding at the Phillip Merrill Environmental Center in Annapolis. The day was perfect, the band amazing, and like most perfect days, it just flew by. I know they have some wonderful memories, and I am so excited to share these photos with them, to help relive the day! Congratulations you two!!
