Lyndsay and Michael’s Epic Summer Wedding at the Newseum in DC

As I stare out at the beautiful snow on this second day of spring, my mind went to warmer thoughts. Summer, roof top bar and dancing with views of the Capitol, rocking out to the sounds of Billy Joel, by Billy Joe’s actual band. Michael and Lyndsay’s wedding was a dream to photograph. We started the day at the George for getting ready photos, then took the party bus to the National War Memorial for the ceremony. I loved the teal and pink that Lyndsay incorporated through out her wedding, vibrant and elegant, the two colors were as perfect together as the day. We then went around DC visiting the Lincoln Memorial and the Jefferson for some photos, then on to the Newsuem to party the night away. I still dream of Wolf Gang Puck’s chicken and waffles, swoon.These two are such a fun and classy couple. One of the cutest things about their wedding was how everyone just wanted to surprise one another. Lyndsay’s dad surprised her by hiring Billy Joel’s band to play during cocktail hour, and Lyndsay surprised Michael, an avid Nationals fan, to having the presidents come and party the night with them. I am so thankful I was able to share their day with them! I can’t believe we are coming up to your first anniversary! Best of luck to you both, and a lifetime of amazing experiences, new things, and much much happiness.

Abby and Lee at the Belmont Estate

Beautiful, kind, and a woman in charge are some of the first words that come to mind when I think of Abby. Lee is all these things as well, but I would say his easy going personality compliments Abby in every way. I love Abby’s sense of style. The bright pink bridesmaids dresses, bow tie, the garden style bouquet, the pink coated champagne glasses. There are so many wonderfully elegant touches that go so well with the Belmont Estate’s classic decor and grounds. One of my most favorite moments about their wedding was when it started pouring just a little too hard for comfort, and Abby decided smack in the middle of the ceremony that we were moving this show under the tent. So we all ran for cover and grabbed what we could and had them share their vows in the gorgeous tent they had decorated. I know most brides don’t look forward to rain on their wedding day, but that moment endeared Abby to me even more. I am so thrilled for these two, and am happy to say they will be celebrating their first Anniversary this June!!

Kerri and Tim’s wedding at Renditions

My luckiness with couples astounds me sometimes. These two, are so sweetly romantic, fun, and really up for anything, that it made my “job” that much easier. I love how they read vows to one another on Renditions beautiful stone bridge. And how, they were willing to throw a little caution to the wind and sit on the bridge and just look at the beautiful golf course. They were also willing to tromp through a little soft dirt, (definitely not mud lol), for some of my favorite photos. They incorporated a little festive Halloween feel, fall decor, a little star gazing (shout out to Nasa), and finished off with a dollar dance donated to their local pet rescue. Any one who knows me, knows that is a cupid arrow to my heart. Thank you both for being just so wonderful and for your generous hearts. Congratulations to you both!!

Mischa and Jon

I have had the pleasure of knowing Michelle through the Humane Society of Calvert County. Her love for animals just shows how large her heart is. If there was any dog, pig, or probably just about any other animal that fits in your living room, that needed a place to stay, her home and heart have always been open. Jon is right there with her, giving love to those who need it. I can only imagine how much these two wonderful people love each other, how much they are willing to do for one another through their lifetime. When you love selflessly as these two do, your heart is always full. There were so many friends and family that came out to support Jon and Michelle’s start of their married journey. They braved the cold, (though thankfully did not have to brave the blizzard), and came out to celebrate! Seeing so much love just makes me very happy, and I am so thankful that these two found each other, and get to share this thing called life together. Congratulations Jon and Michelle! I wish you the best!

Kristin and Chris Tie the Knot!

I feel like I have been waiting for this waiting all year!! I met Kristin at the golf course about two years ago. She is so awesome to hang out with, loads of fun, level headed, good at everything. 🙂 I knew her wedding with Chris was going to be amazing! I was envisioning 20 degree weather and maybe some snow. But you can imagine how wonderful it was to end up getting weather close to 60 degrees! . Chris and Kristin had the best day ever. Not only was the weather beautiful, but they had over 200 of their family and friends to celebrate with them at the Annapolis Marriott. Kristin stunned in her gown and I loved how all the groomsmen and Chris looked so classic in their tuxedos. Some how they were able to pair elegance with crazy party and pull it off. One look at these two whether when they were seeing each other for the first time, saying their vows, or taking a turn on the dance floor, you can tell how unbelievably in love they are with one another! Kristin and Chris, I am so so happy for you, and cannot wait to see all the wonderful things life has in store for you!
