There are some weddings that are just absolutely beyond. Beyond perfect, beyond epic. They will live forever in the hearts and memories of the guests, going down as one of the greatest nights of all time. Rikki and Cletus are not just beautiful people, (and they are) they are warm, endearing, and passionate. Rikki has an amazing gift of making whoever she is speaking with feel as they are the most important person at that moment. She is disarming, and you are instant best friends. I love this about her. These two are a wonderful blend of laid back and visionary. When I saw all the bridesmaids in white and with beautiful white bouquets, my heart was full. And when Rikki stepped out in her classic off the shoulder dress, I was in photography heaven. Herrington was perfection, with its gorgeous gardens and bay views. Rikki made all of the Challah and all the cookies herself. Oh, and did I mention that Alicia Keys personally gave a video wishing these two a wonderful love and life together? I mean, how does that happen?! And the dancing. I can’t even with the dancing. You’ll just have to see. From manly chests to backflips, to one epic horah. I just photographed everything I possibly could, because it was going on. It was a night to remember. Congratulations to the both of you! Your life is full of so much love already! I can’t wait to see all the joy you will have together!
This post is a special because we are celebrating my very best friend’s little sister. Her Wonderland bridal shower was decorated with tea sets, soft purples and pinks, and beautifully set in the garden of one her dear friends and bridesmaid. Guests wore fasteners (the little hats. I had no idea either. ) and floral dresses. A harp played; there was even flowers frozen in the ice cubes, there were babies everywhere, and puppies licked plates that had been left unattended. It was lovely, and this beautiful bride was celebrated as the queen she is. I am so thrilled for Alyssa and wish her so much love, happiness, and adventure. Knowing her, it’s exactly what she’ll get. <3
Lindsay and I toiled over the forecast a bit before her and Jack’s wedding this last weekend in October. Torrential downpours, howling winds, and bitter cold temperatures seemed to loom in the foreground. Yet, the day of their wedding, there was no rain, and while freezing, yes, so very cold, their whole bridal party were troopers and managed to transport themselves mentally to warmer climates and their happy place while we took a few photographs outside. I love the fall colors we were able to capture at Silver Swan. Surrounded by water on both sides, their are few places on the Chesapeake that are as stunning. I am so glad that Jack pursued this girl, for like, ever. Funny how, he just knew from the beginning that she was the one for him. Funny too, that it took Lindsay a little longer to get there, but it all worked out in the end. Thank you both for allowing me to capture your day, for rolling with the wind and the veil casualty we had, the turning blue, and thank you Jack for not jumping into save said veil. We like you better without Pneumonia. Much love and happiness to you both!! PS Sorry, not sorry there are so many of your niece and nephew in this post. <3
