Winter Wonderland Engagement Session at Deep Creek Lake

Lori had a vision. She wanted snow, water, and trees. We location scouted a bit, and asked me if I was willing to drive up to Deep Creek Lake for her engagement photos. Ummm, yes. 100% yes. You had me at snow. I love snow sessions. There is something so peaceful and a feeling of rightness in the world when walking through a forest with newly laid snow. Add waterfalls, and these two lovebirds who are completely at ease in front of the camera, and you have what dreams are made of. I cannot wait to see all the magic of their wedding day this year! See you two soon!

Warmer Days, Engaged in Charleston, South Carolina

I have been meaning to blog this engagement session since September. Now that we are past our 5 degree freeze, and 32 degrees is practically jacket weather, I have decided that this warm front is just the thing to remind me of my wonderful vacation, I mean photo session in Charleston this past fall. Nothing could keep me away from going down to beautiful Charleston to photograph ballet dancer, Haley-Jean and her fiance Steve. Not the fact there was a hurricane coming, not the fact that I had to drive down with twin 6 month olds in the car, or even the fact that Steve, may not be able to make the session. (Though that one, would have put a slight damper on our plans). Still, Haley-Jean and I moved our session up a day so that Steve could be there, before being called out for the Coast Guard, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. These two have such a sweet easiness to their relationship. And their love of dogs is just icing on this already perfect cake! I mean, our session pretty much took place in the middle of a dog park! (Who knew that White Point Gardens let dogs run around certain times of the day?! I didn’t, but I love it!). I loved getting to know these two, and am so thankful for their laid back personalities. Thank you both for just rolling with it, and thank you Haley-Jean for your amazing dance moves! (You too Steve 😉 )

Rachael and Marshall’s Waterfront Engagement Shoot

I haven’t blogged an engagement session for a while, but it is time. And who better than Rachael and Marshall! Goofy people are some of my most favorite people, which puts Rachael and Marshall, (especially Marshall in the goofyometer) at the top. We were so excited to find this little gem of a location in Southern Maryland. Not only did it have a beautiful cliff, dunes, and an all around stunning vista, but it had, wait for it, a payphone! So that was golden.  The weather was perfect, the lighting gorgeous, the lovebirds exactly how you want lovebirds to be! And although there pup couldn’t make it to our session, we photographed Rachael’s gorgeous ring on a pine cone, in honor of their little cutie, who loves nothing more than to chomp away at them. Thank you both for being up for anything and just rolling with it! I can’t wait to see what your wedding has in store! See you before you know it!

        Abby and Lee’s Engagement Session

So I would really love to do two blogs on Abby and Lee’s engagement session. One in black and white, and one in color, because that is how much I love them! First of all, I must give mad props to Abby for her outfit selection. I love the casual autumn feel of her jean outfit, her elegant winter coat, and the colors of her cranberry colored dress with Lee’s ensemble. Next, Vince their pup is just dashing in his tux. I mean, it’s perfection! Also a thank you for Abby’s mom with for not being shy and her quick thinking in asking the deli next door for a cold hot dog. Vince thanks you, and I thank you. Seriously though, these two are so amazing! I loved LOVED getting to know them. And exploring the little town of Clifton VA, and then swinging by Paradise Springs Winery for a few photos at dusk. I had such an amazing time with you both, and really am so exciting for your wedding next summer. You are getting married in one of my favorite venues! (No teasers here). Congratulations to you both! 2017 will be here before we know it! <3

          Erin and Chris’s Engagement session

One of my most favorite things to do, is to go off in a pair of hiking boots, and explore a few hidden areas, both locally, and of course out in the great big world. I was thrilled when Erin and Chris decided they wanted to take engagement photos in Great Falls. I had been there before for fun, but to have these two beautiful people to photograph while doing one of my favorite activities?! Score! We explored woods, trails, and did a little wading, and a little rock hopping, and maybe got a little bit wet here and there. But it was all worth it. Erin and Chris were up for anything, and though I may have said, okay last photo like 500 times, I am pretty sure they are as happy as I am. 🙂 I can’t wait for your wedding you two! I will you soon!!
